Activity Description
QUEST STORY CHALLENGEis a writing project aimed at KS2& KS3school aged children that highlights the hero inside everyone. Through a series of quests, young people decide on their own imaginative solutions to challenges that their character faces in a fantasy adventure that mirrors the bravery and confidence needed to face situations such as Covid-19.
The aim is to provide a creative way for young people to explore:
•Facing up to challenges;
•Determination to keep going;
•Asking for help is good;
•Breaking larger problems into smaller challenges;
•Positive thinking leads to positive actions;
•Recognising the hero inside everyone;
•Emotional resilience.
QUEST STORY CHALLENGE:
•Supports young people to develop literacy skills through a fun story writing challenge;
•Provides an accessible creative activity that encourages imaginative play and expression;
•Promotes emotional resilience, problem solving, collaboration and aspirational thinking;•Encourages a sense of community and belonging through local references within the stories;
•Keeps young people creatively connected by being part of a county-wide project.
